New York County Lawyers Association Statement
on the Nomination of Brett Kavanaugh
Michael J. McNamara, President of the New York County Lawyers Association, along with the NYCLA Executive Committee, issued this statement today on behalf of the Association:
“The New York County Lawyers Association joins the call of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association for an FBI investigation prior to the United States Senate taking any further action on Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to the United States Supreme Court.
We agree that the Senate’s duty of advice and consent requires a careful examination of the serious accusations that have been made against the nominee and that proceeding without a further investigation could cause lasting damage to the reputation and prestige of the United States Senate and the United States Supreme Court.”
