QUESTION.
Is it ethically proper for a lawyer to use his firm letterhead for a circular letter to be signed by him soliciting contributions from non-lawyers to a charitable organization?
ANSWER.
The proposed use of a lawyer’s letterhead is, in the opinion of the Committee, improper under Canon 27, except when mailed to members of the bar or to persons with whom the lawyer has personal relationships.
