Recent Developments in Restrictive Covenant and Trade Secret

Recorded On 11/01/2017

COURSE DETAILS

Many employers try to limit former employees’ actions at the conclusion of the employment relationship through restrictive covenants, especially to protect proprietary information, trade secrets, confidential customer relationships and information. Yet, generally courts in New York will only enforce these agreements when they are necessary to protect an employer’s legitimate interests and where they are reasonable in time and geographic area.

Join our panel of experts as they discuss the latest developments in trade secrets and restrictive covenants, as well as:

  • factors to consider when drafting, negotiating  and litigating these agreements;
  • settlement approaches;
  • Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 (“DTSA”)
  • Pros and Cons of DTSA
