Recorded On 09/24/2019

COURSE DETAILS

Gain insights from three former Court of Appeals members — Judges Rosenblatt, Smith, and Pigott — on practice before the Court: past, present, and future.  This panel discussion will provide perspectives on the Court of Appeals during the tenure of the previous two Chief Judges, practical advice on appearing before the Court today, and possibilities for how Court of Appeals practice may change going forward.  Specific topics will include:

  • the Court’s jurisdiction,
  • its processes for handling applications for leave to appeal in criminal and civil cases, and
  • how appeals are argued and decided once leave has been granted.
