RECEPTION FOR JUDGE MARTIN GLENN

 

NOVEMBER 20, 2007 – NEW YORK, NY – The New York County Lawyers’ Association’s (NYCLA) Bankruptcy Law Committee will host a reception for Judge Martin Glenn, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York, on Tuesday, November 27 at 6:00 PM at the NYCLA Home of Law – 14 Vesey Street.

 

Judge Glenn

Judge Glenn was sworn in as a United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York in November 2006. He served as a law clerk for Hon. Henry J. Friendly, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, from 1971-1972. From 1972 until his appointment to the bench, Judge Glenn practiced law with O’Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles until 1985 and thereafter in New York. His practice focused on complex civil litigation, including securities, RICO, unfair competition, and financial and accounting fraud. He received his J.D. degree from Rutgers Law School.

 

This reception is among the myriad NYCLA events taking place during the Association’s Centennial year celebration, which commenced in April 2007 and ends in December 2008. NYCLA (www.nycla.org) was founded in April 1908 as the first major bar association in the country that admitted members without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual identity. Since its inception, it has pioneered some of the most far-reaching and tangible reforms in American jurisprudence and has continuously played an active role in legal developments and public policy.
