Advising the Startup

Recorded On 06/16/2016

COURSE DETAILS

In today’s business environment when it seems like everyone is an entrepreneur seeking to start up a business or strike out on their own, it is more important than ever to get proper business and legal advice. While a small company may be flexible and able to quickly respond to trends and customer demands, as companies begin to grow, proper legal advice and oversight become more and more essential to their long term viability.

Our panel of experts will discuss many of the key issues attorneys need to know about when asked to advise a startup, including:

  • Intellectual property matters for startups
  • Entity Selection and how to properly address key corporate governance issues of a startup company to ensure its survival and continuity
  • Nonimmigrant and immigrant visa options for start-up companies (temporary work visas and permanent residents for foreign nationals starting businesses in the US)
