This NY Bridge the Gap program is comprised of three sections.  If you wish to register for all sections, please scroll down and click register. If you wish to register for one of the sections, please click the section you wish to register for and then click register.  Please note newly admitted attorneys must attend the program in person.

 

Section 1: Ten Tips to Take your Law Practice to the Top

 

1 NY Credit: 1 Ethics, Transitional and Non-transitional

 

This is a one-hour CLE covering strategies for strengthening the attorney-client relationship; preserving evidence; writing for clarity; the most common ethical issues; oral advocacy; taking depositions; and tactics for effective negotiation.

 

Section 2: Finance for Lawyers 

 

7 NY Credits: 5 Skills; 2 Ethics and Professionalism, Transitional and Non-transitional

 

Topics include:

 

  • How lawyers add value to the financial function of a company
  • Role of finance in an organization
  • Foundations of modern accounting and the basic equations of finance
  • Accounting methodologies and principles
  • Who’s who in financial reporting
  • Private company accounting
  • Key numbers and ratios
  • Present value concepts and business valuations
  • The lawyer’s role in financial audits and ethical considerations
  • Basic concepts of financial investment
  • Financial fraud schemes and ethical responsibilities

 

Section 3: Mental Fitness for Lawyers: Actionable Strategies to Manage Stress, Build Resilience, and Prevent Burnout

 

1 NY Credit: 1 Skills, Transitional and Non-transitional

 

Topics include:

  • Explore the neurological and physiological impact of chronic stress on high-achieving legal professionals
  • Distinguish between everyday stress, burnout, and trauma, and understand why the differences matter
  • Identify common signs of burnout, emotional exhaustion, and nervous system overload before they significantly impact well-being and effectiveness
  • Learn practical, evidence-based strategies to regulate stress and improve resilience in demanding professional environments
  • Review available resources and pathways for seeking support to maintain long-term health, resilience, and career sustainability

9 NY Credits: 3 Ethics & Professionalism; 6 Skills; Transitional and Non-transitional
