Since its inception, NYCLA has been at the forefront of most legal debates in the country. We have provided legal education for more than 40 years.
NYCLA notes with sadness the passing of Robert B. Fiske, Jr. He was a giant of the bar. Among many other things, he was the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and the first Whitewater special prosecutor. He mentored many other outstanding lawyers, including fellow United States Attorneys Elkan Abramowitz and Mary Jo White. He was one of his generation’s great trial lawyers, noted for his wisdom, strong sense of professionalism and equally strong sense of professional ethics. He was a lawyer’s lawyer and will be sorely missed.
About the New York County Lawyers Association
The New York County Lawyers Association (www.nycla.org) was founded in 1908 as one of the first major bar associations in the country that admitted members without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or gender. Since its inception, it has pioneered some of the most far-reaching and tangible reforms in American jurisprudence and has continuously played an active role in legal developments and public policy.
