We Give Thanks for the Rule of Law
Happy Thanksgiving to our many members and friends. As we approach Thanksgiving, it is traditional to give thanks for the blessings we enjoy. As lawyers and bar association officers one of those blessings is our nation’s historic commitment, for 250 years, to the rule of law. Our nation was founded on the principle that all are subject to and equal before the law, which is to be enforced neutrally and subject to the protection of an independent judiciary as a bulwark of our basic liberties. We give thanks for those protections, which exist for and need to be reaffirmed by every generation.
