New York, NY — The New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) has released a new episode of its acclaimed podcast, Amicus Curiae: Candidly Speaking, titled “Inside the Trial: Lessons from the O.J. Simpson Case, 30 Years Later.”

Hosted by Daniel K. Wiig, the episode revisits the trial that captured global attention and forever changed the intersection of law, media, and race in America. Nearly three decades after the verdict, the conversation explores how the case reshaped public understanding of justice and continues to influence the courtroom and culture today.

Wiig is joined by three distinguished guests whose expertise and firsthand experience bring the landmark case into sharp focus:

Richard Gabriel, trial consultant and advisor to Simpson’s defense team
Professor Stanley Goldman, law professor and former Fox News legal editor
Shawn Holley, defense attorney and member of Simpson’s original “Dream Team”

Together, they examine the strategies employed by both sides, the LAPD’s handling of the investigation, and the early use of DNA evidence that helped set new standards for forensic science in the courtroom. The discussion also asks whether a case of such magnitude and media intensity could unfold in the same way today.

“The O.J. Simpson trial was a defining legal and cultural moment,” said Daniel K. Wiig, host of Amicus Curiae: Candidly Speaking. “Three decades later, it still raises critical questions about race, justice, and the role of media in shaping public perception of the law.”

Inside the Trial offers a clear and compelling look at the lessons the Simpson case continues to hold for today’s legal system, from trial strategy to public trust in the rule of law.

The episode of the NYCLA Amicus Curiae Podcast Candidly Speaking with host Daniel K. Wiig is streaming on all major podcast platforms.
