Lower Manhattan Bar Association Presents Public Forum: “Preparation of Basic Estate-Planning Documents” on November 18

 

NOVEMBER 18, 2009 – NEW YORK, NY – The New York County Lawyers’ Association’s (NYCLA) Pro Bono Elder Law Project is hosting its fourth annual public forum, “Preparation of Basic Estate-Planning Documents,” on November 18 at 5:30 PM at the NYCLA Home of Law, 14 Vesey Street. Clifford A. Meirowitz, chair of the Elder Law Project, will discuss the preparation of such documents as powers of attorney, living wills and health care proxies, in addition to speaking about how to avoid guardianships. Following his presentation, volunteer attorneys will be available to assist attendees in the preparation of health care proxies and answer questions regarding other advance directives.

 

Mr. Meirowitz is the founder of Clifford A. Meirowitz & Associates, PLLC, a law firm specializing in the areas of elder law and trusts and estates. He is also an adjunct professor at the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies and NYU Wagner School of Lifelong Learning. A noted lecturer, Mr. Meirowitz has spoken on elder law topics at many community and advocacy groups and has presented at various CLE classes.

 

The forum is co-sponsored by NYCLA’s Elder Law Committee.
