COURSE DETAILS

This program examines how the U.S. Supreme Court, in three landmark cases over a 45-year span, addressed the question of affirmative action in higher education. In Regents of the University of California v. Bakke (1978), Grutter v. Bollinger (2003), and Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard (2023), the Burger Court, the Rehnquist Court, and the Roberts Court grappled with the issue of affirmative action and issued decisions shaping the contours of access to higher education in an increasingly diverse society.
