Since its inception, NYCLA has been at the forefront of most legal debates in the country. We have provided legal education for more than 40 years.
Named for Ida B. Wells-Barnett, one of the first African American women to run for public office in the United States, this award is presented to a woman of color whose life reflects Ms. Wells-Barnett spirit of courageousness by distinguishing herself in the fight for racial and gender equality.
