The 2024 Annual Meeting will be conducted in hybrid format, in person at 111 Broadway and via Zoom.

On January 26, 2024, the following members were nominated as Officers of the Association by the Committee on Nominations, to serve a term of one-year:

On January 26, 2024, the following individuals were nominated by the Committee on Nominations as Directors to the Class of 2027:

Committee on Nominations:

In accordance with Article 15, Section 1 of the Bylaws, the President has nominated the following individuals to serve as the Class of 2027 on the Committee on Nominations:

Nominees for Officers:

Adrienne Koch: Ms. Koch has been a member of NYCLA since 2011 and has served as the Association’s President for the year. She previously served as the Association’s President-Elect, Treasurer and served as Co-Chair of the Committee on Committees. She is a Partner at Katsky Korins LLP.

Richard P. Swanson: Mr. Swanson has been a member of NYCLA since 1981 and currently serves as the Association’s President-Elect. He previously served as the Association’s Treasurer, Chair of the Board’s Investments Committee and Chair of the Supreme Court Committee. He previously served as General Counsel of York Capital Management.

Ron Minkoff: Mr. Minkoff has been a member of NYCLA since 2010. He has served on NYCLA’s Board and Executive Committee, including serving as Treasurer for the last two years. He is the Co-Chair of the Committee on Professionalism and Professional Discipline. He is a Partner at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, PC.

David Cohn: Mr. Cohn has been a member of NYCLA since 2005. He has served on NYCLA’s Board and Executive Committee, including serving as Secretary for the last two years. Mr. Cohn is the Chief Appellate Attorney at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office and Adjunct Professor of Law at Fordham University School of Law.

Jai Chandrasekhar: Mr. Chandrasekhar has been a member of NYCLA since 1991. He has served on NYCLA’s Board and Executive Committee, including previously serving as Secretary. He is Senior Counsel at Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann LLP.

Nominees for Directors:

Geoffrey Bickford: Mr. Bickford has been a member of NYCLA since 2011. He served as a special appointee to NYCLA’s Board this past year, and has previously served on NYCLA’s Board of Directors. He currently is the Co-Chair of NYCLA’s Criminal Justice Committee. Mr. Bickford is a Staff Attorney at The Legal Aid Society, and previously served as the Executive Director of the Maine Gun Safety Coalition.

Hon. L. Austin D’Souza: Judge D’Souza has been a member of NYCLA since 2009. He has served on NYCLA’s Board of Directors and as the NYCLA Special Masters Coordinator. Judge D’Souza was elected to New York County Civil Court in 2023, is a Past President of the South Asian Bar Association of New York, and previously served as the Principal Law Clerk to Hon. Faviola A. Soto, New York Court of Claims.

Hank Greenberg: Mr. Greenberg has been a member of NYCLA since 2023. He served as a special appointee on NYCLA’s Board of Directors this past year. Mr. Greenberg is a Past President of the New York State Bar Association and is a Shareholders at Greenberg Traurig, LLP.

Susan Harper: Ms. Harper has been a member of NYCLA since 2006. She previously served on NYCLA’s Board of Directors, and currently serves on NYCLA’s Nominations Committee, NYCLA’s Investments Committee and NYCLA’s Foundation Board. Ms. Harper is an attorney and consultant; she previously served as the Managing Director of the Bates Group.

Hon. Margaret J. Finerty: Judge Finerty has been a member of NYCLA since 1979. She served as Co-Chair of the Task Force on Judicial Selection and Task Force on Administrative Law Reform and currently serves on the Board of Directors. She is retired from the bench and is a Partner at Getnick & Getnick LLP.

Gordon Eng: Mr. Eng has been a member of NYCLA since 2005. He previously served on NYCLA’s Board of Directors, where he served as Chair of the Audit Committee. Mr. Eng is the General Counsel of SKY Harbor Capital Management, LLC.

Margaret Ling: Ms. Ling has been a member of NYCLA since 2014. She serves as the Co-Chair of the Committee on Asian Practice and serves on NYCLA’s Nominations Committee. Ms. Ling is NYS Agency Business Development & Underwriting Counsel at AmTrust Title.

Gerard Mantese: Mr. Mantese has been a member of NYCLA since 2022. He currently serves as the Chair of NYCLA’s Committee on Corporations, LLCs, and Partnerships. He is a Partner at Mantese Honigman, PC.

Sateesh Nori: Mr. Nori has been a member of NYCLA since 2021. He currently serves on NYCLA’s Justice Center Advisory Board. Mr. Nori is a consultant and Adjunct Clinical Professor of Law at New York University School of Law.

Kathleen Reilly: Ms. Reilly has been a member of NYCLA since 2024, and has previously assisted NYCLA as pro bono counsel. She is a Partner at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP.

Nominees for the Nominations Committee:

Susan Harper: Ms. Harper has been a member of NYCLA since 2006. She previously served on NYCLA’s Board of Directors, and currently serves on NYCLA’s Nominations Committee, NYCLA’s Investments Committee and NYCLA’s Foundation Board. Ms. Harper is an attorney and consultant; she previously served as the Managing Director of the Bates Group.

Michael McNamara: Mr. McNamara has been a member of NYCLA since 1984. He is a Past President of NYCLA, has served on the Board of Directors in his capacity as Past President, and is the current Chair of the NYCLA Nominations Committee. Mr. McNamara is a Partner at Seward & Kissel LLP.

Michael Miller: Mr. Miller has been a member of NYCLA since 1984. He is a Past President of NYCLA, has served on the Board of Directors in his capacity as Past President, and also previously served on NYCLA’s Nominations Committee. Mr. Miller is a Past President of the New York State Bar Association and a solo practitioner.

Asha S. Smith: Ms. Smith has been a member of NYCLA since 2006 and currently serves on the Association’s Board, is Co-Chair of NYCLA’s Criminal Justice Committee and Member of the Justice Center Advisory Board. Ms. Smith is an attorney, Adjunct Professor at Farleigh Dickinson University and dispute resolution professional.

Richard P. Swanson: Mr. Swanson has been a member of NYCLA since 1981 and currently serves as the Association’s President-Elect. He previously served as the Association’s Treasurer, Chair of the Board’s Investments Committee and Chair of the Supreme Court Committee. He previously served as General Counsel of York Capital Management.
