Many individuals are falsely placed on the New York State Central Register of Child Abuse and Mistreatment. This may result in the person being denied employment, prevented from becoming a foster or adoptive parent, or the information can be used against them in a child custody proceeding.
This educational training will discuss the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Mistreatment (SCR) and begin to address the upcoming changes in the law effective 2022. The program will also help ACS attorneys understand the issues that are confronted on the other side, as well as 18b lawyers who practice family law and encounter the SCR through their practices.
