Faculty:David J. Feeser, Esq., Exchange Director, Legal 1031 Exchange Services, Inc.

A 1031 tax deferred exchange allows real property owners to defer the recognition of a capital gains tax that they would have recognized when they sold their property. Exchanging allows owner/investors to reinvest their money into new business or investment properties by using a "qualified intermediary" to structure the transaction, instead of paying capital gains tax to the government upon the close of the sale.

Our expert speaker will provide an overview of several important real estate tax strategies, as well as provide legal professionals with the knowledge needed to effectively represent the needs of their clients who are contemplating the sale of investment real estate involving a 1031 exchange.

David J. Feeser is an Exchange Director at Legal 1031 Exchange Services, Inc. David has been an attorney for over 20 years and has many years of experience with 1031 exchanges. He previously worked for a major national qualified intermediary. He has taught numerous classes on IRC §1031 tax deferred exchanges for attorneys, CPAs, realtors, title companies and real estate investment associations.
