The Library offers several courses a week in the use of electronic resources in its state-of-the-art Electronic Research Center. Most seminars are customized for the busy practitioner in 50-minute sessions. You will learn not only how to conduct comprehensive legal research, but factual investigation techniques as well – skills that are invaluable. The seminars cover statutory and regulatory research on Lexis, Westlaw & Bloomberg Law (BLAW) service, researching of treatises and other secondary sources on Lexis and Westlaw, and navigating the internet for specialized resources in your area of practice such as immigration, criminal, medical and corporate research. Other related seminars include use of the BLAW service for finding companies, analyst’s reports, people and insider trading, as well as researching the debt and equity markets.
Your law firm support staff may attend any of our research seminars for a nominal fee. Lexis, Westlaw and BLAW seminars are free of charge.
