Sylvia E. Di Pietro, Esq., LLC provides a full range of services in the area of Article 81 Guardianship Advocacy and Petitions and contested matters, trusts and estates needs covering everything from probate, administration, to contested complex litigation. The firm also handles traditional areas of Real Estate Law providing counsel and contractual negotiations with respect to Real Estate, Condo and CO-OP Closings, Commercial Leasing and Litigation as well as the representation of authors, agencies and publishers in contract negotiations, and litigation involving Copyright Infringement over the Internet.  Legal Services include the negotiation and drafting of Risk Management Contracts in the Television, Music and Entertainment Industries.

Sylvia is a native New Yorker and admitted to practice law before the courts of the State of New York, the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Sylvia graduated from Long Island University with honors with a BA and MA in English.  She is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School and a former Vice President of the New York Women’s Bar Association, a member of its Trusts and Estate Section, a Delegate to the Network of Bar Leaders and the Board of Directors of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York.

Presently, Sylvia is member of the Board of Directors, a Delegate to the New York State Bar Association and the Chair to the Estates Trusts Section for New York County Lawyers Association, where she formerly held the Chair of the Real Property Section and Co-Chair of the Committee on Coops and Condos. She is also an Alternate NYCLA Delegate to the Network of Bar Leaders representing the President of the Bar. She is also a frequent speaker at NYCLA Institute’s continuing legal education classes.

In addition, Sylvia is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Sections on Elder Law and Trusts and Estates, and participates as a member of the Committees on the Elderly and Disabled, Estate Litigation and Pre-Mortem Probate.  She is a former member of the Special Committee on Cyberspace Law. She is a also member of the Jewish Lawyers Guild, the Columbian Lawyers Association, First Department, and the New York City Bar where she  is a member of the Council on Judicial Administration, Chair of the Subcommittee on Guardianship Law,  and a former member of the State Courts of Superior Jurisdiction.

Prior to entering law, Sylvia enjoyed a rich career as an official court reporter in the Supreme Courts of Queens and Kings County reporting major civil and criminal trials. Thereafter, she was the Managing Director of Forsythe International Limited in New York, a premium incentive marketing company, specializing in promoting creative ideas to Fortune 500 Companies. As the owner of her own consulting company, her work focused on the research and marketing of intellectual property, creating advertising and sales promotional campaigns and handling all aspects of public relations and media placement for a celebrity clientele.

As an accomplished public speaker, Sylvia has appeared on national radio shows on topic covering issues related to retirement and estate planning, relationship conflicts over money, the need for prenuptial agreements, the Boston Catholic Church, cyber adultery, father’s rights and custody issues.

Pro bono activities include counseling individuals in matrimonial matters. She also participates as a Pro Bono Employer/Mentor with CUNY’s Associate Degree Program at New York City College of Technology, Legal Assistant Studies Department, where she mentors paralegal students prior to seeking employment.  As Chair of the Estates Trusts Section at NYCLA, Sylvia also mentors law students who are interested in pursuing a career in probate and administration.
