Allan R. Pearlman

After a judicial clerkship at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, Allan R. Pearlman served in New York State Supreme Court’s Law Department as a Senior Court Attorney. He then went into private practice doing primarily civil litigation and appeals. He has developed a focus in representing taxpayers who are being pursued by the IRS or the State of New York, or both; however, he handles general non-tax issues as well and has developed a separate, non-tax focus serving as local counsel to lawyers anywhere outside New York who have non-party witnesses in New York who have to be subpoenaed. He also has litigated a First Amendment freedom of speech and association issue in a criminal case in the Eastern District of New York.
Allan Pearlman received his BA from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, his JD from Rutgers School of Law -Camden. In 1994, he received the NYCLA Criminal Justice Section’s Public Service Fellowship based on an essay competition. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review.
