Description:

 This program will cover the essentials components
of a music license as well as
negotiation strategies and common music
licensing deals. Panelists will discuss the
key players in the industry, and will cover
common licenses such as print, mechanical,
synchronization, electrical transcription and
performance licenses. The discussion will also
include special considerations for new media
products, television, digital sampling and
downloads, fair use and film productions.
Panelists will have an opportunity to illustrate
the topics covered in the class through a mock
negotiation guided by a negotiation expert.
Some knowledge of intellectual
property is required.
