Gain an overview of what you need to know to practice immigration law successfully and how to obtain the proper immigrant visa or "green card" for your client. This part of the course focuses on immigration for the business owner or employee responsible for immigration management in the corporate setting. Topics covered include non-immigrant work authorized visa categories and labor certification. General topics in employment and practical tips for managing and complying with the current immigration law are also discussed.
Immigration 101 – Part 2 Family-based Immigration, Removal Proceedings and Overview of Asylum 3 MCLE Credits: 1 Ethics; 1 Skills; 1 PP; Non-transitional This course is for practitioners who want an introduction and practical tips on complying with the law and easing the burden on potential immigrants and their families. Covered are immigration defense and removal proceedings, political asylum and other topics useful for new or seasoned immigration attorneys.
Ethical Issues in Immigration Practice 3 MCLE Credits: 3 Ethics Using a series of hypotheticals, a panel of immigration experts and ethicists will discuss the ethical issues that confront immigration practitioners during the course of their practices and the best practices for handling those problems.
