An unparalleled panel of experts from the bench, bar, government and law schools will discuss such topics as: a statutory overview of the principal law governing federal criminal practice; initiation of the criminal proceeding; pretrial issues; common ethical issues arising in the course of federal defense practice; the federal criminal trial; federal evidence considerations; a comprehensive overview of federal sentencing guidelines; federal appeal considerations; and an overview of available resources to assist the federal criminal defense practitioner.
Beginning on a Thursday evening with an opening session, attendees are also invited to an opening reception and social hour, providing an opportunity for Institute participants to meet the faculty, members of the judiciary and honored guests. Full day sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided each day.**
