Join NYCLA's Women's Rights Committee for a discussion of recent changes to New York State domestic violence laws. Panelists will discuss the creation of a new domestic violence fatality review team; changes to allow a domestic violence victim to shield his or her address from disclosure; the establishment of the crime of "aggravated family offense"; an amendment to require a health insurer to accommodate a reasonable request to receive communications at an alternative location or by alternative means; and an amendment pertaining to who may dispose of a deceased person's remains when the deceased person was a domestic violence victim.
